Google gave us a novel route to Escanaba. We are a novel family, so it seemed reasonable. It would have been a great bicycle route; the twisty curves made two of three kids car sick.
Time passed backwards. The more we traveled, the further our destination. Then the van began surging, and a battery icon flickered on occasion.
Yesterday Lloyds Automotive replaced our alternator. The last time they worked on the van brakes a pebble mysteriously slipped into the rotor. Once coincidence.
We aborted to Norway, an hour short of Escanaba. The storm came as we settled into the local AmericInn, with a pool and hot tub and sauna. Tomorrow we find a garage, and learn our new travel plan.
Bad luck?
Old zen story. Maybe yes, maybe in an alternative universe a lumber truck ran off the road in the storm and we're singing with the angels.
Could do worse than Norway.
